The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. The women's competition, Pegboard contests, Cutting system and Reebok equipment are all well-known. But, do you really know what to expect? Read on to find out more. Don't forget the CrossFit news page to get the latest information about the competition.
The competition for women
The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski won the overall competition after maintaining her lead all the way. Tall finished second and Eramoo O’Connell third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Other contenders are Australian athlete Kara Saunders, who finished second in Australia and eleventh worldwide in 2020. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
The Pegboard contest at the Crossfit Games 2021 was a first. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr, who won 30 games events, holds the record of most wins in one Games event. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

CrossFit Games athletes train by focusing on ten core physical skills: strength, flexibility and speed. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. The competition was fierce, and the athletes were left feeling a sense of accomplishment after completing the Pegboard.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. Although it's not as drastic as previous Games, it is still quite different from this year. The competition has 15 individual events. Therefore, it's likely that the first cut of 30 athletes will occur after the seventh or eight event. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts occur in the first six events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top thirty athletes then compete in a sprint team to determine the top 10. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was criticized by veterans Games participants who felt the cuts were too large.
Reebok equipment
Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok calls the shoe "the shoe of health," but it is more like a traditional trainer shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The firm midsole and RopePro tech enhance the responsiveness of the shoes.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. The Games have been sponsored by Reebok for over a decade, and it's now clear that the company's involvement will be decreasing. Reebok won’t pay for the Games’ prize, but they will continue to make all athletic apparel, equipment, and gear worn by athletes. However, Reebok CrossFit Games will no longer be called the company.

What nutrients do men need each day?
For healthy growth and development, men need to eat a balanced diet. Vitamins, minerals, vitamins, nutrients, carbohydrates, fats and fiber are all essential for the body.
Specific nutrients are also required by the male body at different times during the day. Your body makes hormones, antibodies and enzymes when you are asleep. Protein is needed to build muscles and repair tissue damaged when you wake up.
Your body burns fat at night and stores it as energy as glycogen. Your body has less energy but still requires enough nutrients during this time. You can have a snack at night if you feel hungry.
You need to eat enough carbs and protein when you exercise. After a hard workout, muscle soreness may occur.
To prevent this from happening, you need to consume carbs or protein within two hours. To provide energy, your body will begin to break down stored glycogen.
Also, protein must be consumed immediately after your workouts. This prevents the breakdown of muscle tissue that occurs while you sleep.
Your body can produce lactic acid during intense physical activity. It is a form of lactic acid that builds up in the bloodstream. This causes fatigue. Eat foods high in carbohydrate, such as fruits, vegetables, to avoid this.
Carbohydrates are a good source of energy to help you recover from hard exercise.
Additionally, lean meats, fish and eggs, dairy products, yogurt, cream, cheese, yogurt and beans can be added to your diet.
All these foods are high-quality sources of protein. Protein promotes muscle growth and repairs damaged tissues. It also provides the amino acids your body needs to produce sex hormones and testosterone.
A healthy skin, nails and joints requires sufficient dietary fats. Healthy men need between 20% and 35% of their total caloric intake from fat.
Fat is good for your heart and helps you fight cancer. It helps keep your brain working properly.
You can get most of the fat you need from vegetable oils like olive oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, and safflower oil.
These oils are high in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs). MUFAs help lower cholesterol and reduce inflammation. They protect your cells and prevent damage from free radicals.
Saturated fats (SFAs), are found mainly in animal products such as meat, milk products, and butter. SFAs raise LDL ("bad") cholesterol and increase triglycerides. They promote weight gain as well as belly fat.
Plant-based oils such as vegetable oil, nuts, seeds, or grains are rich in polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs). PUFAs help improve cardiovascular function, and lower inflammation. They also reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, and other inflammatory factors.
Men with low HDL ("good") cholesterol often suffer from erectile dysfunction. The consumption of saturated fats raises bad cholesterol which in turn lowers good cholesterol.
Men who eat lots of red meat or pork can develop prostate problems. This is because these foods contain high amounts of nitrates. High temperatures can cause nitrates to become nitrosamines. These compounds can lead to cancer.
Most processed meats contain nitrites or other harmful chemicals. You should avoid them.
The American Heart Association recommends limiting red meat intake to two meals per week. Instead, choose poultry, fish, legumes, tofu, whole grain bread, and cereals.
